Completed in October 1996, this exceptional work measures approximately 800 x 1,360 mm and represents the culmination of Kiyomitsu's patented gemstone inlay technique, developed over decades of research and craftsmanship. Registered under Japanese Patent No. 859922, the artist's innovative process transformed natural gemstones into richly detailed works of art that have become synonymous with luxury, precision and enduring beauty.

The artwork incorporates more than 15 varieties of precious and semi-precious materials, including diamonds, rubies, tourmaline, opal, malachite, amazonite, onyx, chrysotile, hematite and gold, meticulously hand-set to create a vibrant depiction of a tiger and hawk within a tranquil natural landscape.

Koun Kiyomitsu's works are celebrated internationally, with examples having been exhibited at prestigious institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Louvre Museum (Paris) and the Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg).

According to the accompanying independent appraisal report, the artwork contains an exceptional quantity of precious materials and has been appraised with an estimated market value of USD $30,000,000–$35,000,000.

This is an Auction Sale. All goods sold "As is", Inspection is recommended prior to bidding.

Photos, descriptions and condition reports (if any) should be used as a guide only.

The Auctioneer states that all or any items may have reserve prices. The reserve price is not met unless an email is sent confirming a successful purchase. If the bidding has not reached reserve the Auctioneer will refer the highest bid to the Vendor, the highest bidder shall have first right of refusal in any referred bids. Once the bidder has refused any counter offers or negotiations then the Auctioneer shall declare the goods open for negotiations with other potential purchasers.

In accordance with our vendor payment processes, Lloyds must be made aware of any issue with a purchase within 5 days of receipt. Claims are not able to be reviewed after this time as vendor payments have been processed.
