Expressions of Interest are now being invited for the acquisition of Tiger & Hawk, an extraordinary monumental gemstone masterpiece by renowned Japanese artist Koun Kiyomitsu.

Completed in October 1996, this exceptional work measures approximately 800 x 1,360 mm and represents the culmination of Kiyomitsu's patented gemstone inlay technique, developed over decades of research and craftsmanship. Registered under Japanese Patent No. 859922, the artist's pioneering process transformed natural gemstones into richly detailed works of art renowned for their precision, luxury and enduring beauty.

The artwork incorporates more than 15 varieties of precious and semi-precious materials, including diamonds, rubies, tourmaline, opal, malachite, amazonite, onyx, chrysotile, hematite and gold, each meticulously hand-set to create a striking depiction of a tiger and hawk within a tranquil natural landscape.

Koun Kiyomitsu's works have achieved international recognition, with examples exhibited at prestigious institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Louvre Museum and the Hermitage Museum.

This is an Auction Sale. All goods sold "As is", Inspection is recommended prior to bidding.

Photos, descriptions and condition reports (if any) should be used as a guide only.

The Auctioneer states that all or any items may have reserve prices. The reserve price is not met unless an email is sent confirming a successful purchase. If the bidding has not reached reserve the Auctioneer will refer the highest bid to the Vendor, the highest bidder shall have first right of refusal in any referred bids. Once the bidder has refused any counter offers or negotiations then the Auctioneer shall declare the goods open for negotiations with other potential purchasers.

In accordance with our vendor payment processes, Lloyds must be made aware of any issue with a purchase within 5 days of receipt. Claims are not able to be reviewed after this time as vendor payments have been processed.
