Caproni are best known for their successful aircraft and are Italy's oldest and, at one time, biggest maker of aircraft, responsible for the world's second jet powered plane in 1940 as well as Italy's first post war jet.

The company began making motorcycles as Aero Caproni in 1948 at their Trento factory north of Verona near Lake Garda. These machines were built to their own designs and to a high standard, employing both tubular and pressed steel frames and advanced OHV and face cam OHC engines, in 75, 125 and 150cc.

This 75cc machine has such a face cam OHC engine with a 4 speed integral gearbox and a lightweight but rigid, sheet steel frame. Versions of these were successful in their class in Italian road racing in the 1950's.

Made in quite small numbers until the plant closed in 1964 (total 1956 production 2760), this 1956 machine was acquired locally in very good original condition and carefully restored to become part of a small collection several years ago. In running condition when placed into storage, these are scarce and sought after in Italy and rare in Australia.

Comes with an original copy of the owners manual.
