Overview
This is a genuine one-off Formula One-inspired track car project, professionally designed and fabricated over approximately five years as a bespoke engineering exercise. Rather than being built to comply with any particular race category, the objective was to create an uncompromising Formula-style track day car that captured the appearance and driving experience of a contemporary Formula One machine whilst utilising proven BMW V8 power and modern dual-clutch transmission technology.
The vendor advises the vehicle's proportions were developed by carefully scaling a 1:18 model of a 2011/2012 Red Bull Formula One car to full size before the chassis was designed and fabricated. The result is a unique open-wheel race car featuring a custom steel tube spaceframe chassis clothed in lightweight carbon fibre bodywork. Power is intended to come from a BMW 4.0-litre V8 engine sourced from a 2012 BMW M3, paired with BMW's highly regarded 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine has never been started since purchase and should be regarded as untested.
