1937 Chevrolet Maple Leaf two-door light truck finished in black, rear-wheel drive configuration. Originally built as a farm vehicle and never road registered, this example has undergone an extensive ground-up restoration and modification over a ten-year period, converting it to a modern V8 automatic configuration suitable for contemporary road use. Powered by a 5.7-litre (350ci) V8 petrol engine paired with an automatic transmission. Odometer indicating 20 kilometres since completion.



Description/Extras:

Originally purchased new in 1937 from a Sydney Atkinson dealer in Perth and delivered directly to a farm in Quairading, Western Australia, where it remained in continuous farm use until 2009. Acquired from the original family owner, the vehicle was fully disassembled and rebuilt over approximately ten years into a modernised yet period-respectful light truck.


The build converts the vehicle to a V8 automatic drivetrain designed to comfortably keep pace with modern traffic conditions. Vendor advises approximately $100,000 has been invested in purchase and build costs to date. The vehicle is supported by “permits in principle” from the Department of Transport outlining all approved modifications, with all construction completed in accordance with those guidelines. Now ready for final engineering inspection by an approved engineer prior to Department of Transport inspection and licensing.
