Description/extras: One of a kind all-Australian Bufori Madison in excellent condition. Just a few of these cars were build in Australia and to the best our knowledge this is the only Bufori available for sale in Australia at the moment.
This unique hand crafted and custom made car is driven by the water-cooled SUBURU horizontally opposed engine, equivalent to a WRX in a much lighter car as pictured. Its performance is exhilarating on the road. It is still totally original in every way, with the original paint in very good condition for its age. This car is "Number 30 Build" when Bufori Madisons started here in Australia. Sorry to see it go. BUFORIs are Stylishly like American 1930s exotic coupes. In fact this particular car is the personification of The Great Gatsby, the 1974 iconic movie as the car driven by Robert Redford in that movie which is a Duesenberg inspired a young Gerry Khoury of Bufori to build it in his garage starting in the early 1980`.
However, they are not copies or reproductions of those classic roadsters. Bufori is a brand of hand-built and custom made automobiles truly inspired by the classical 1930s Grand American coupes. The company is owned by three Australian brothers, Anthony, George and Gerry Khouri. In 1986, Gerry Khouri began to build these special sports cars in his garage, one each for the three brothers, which led to the formation of the company. The road production non-race models are specifically designed for their timeless beauty alone, in the same way, the 1930s coupes were conceived and loved. However, these are not copies or reproductions of those classic roadsters. Each BUFORI is individually and exclusively handmade for its owner. The name Bufori is an acronym that stands for: Beautiful, Unique, Fantastic, Original, Romance, & Irresistible. Here is your opportunity to own a real piece of Australian Sports car History.
Since the early 1990`s Bufori has relocated its operation to Malaysia and it is still very much in operation primarily catering for the ultra rich in Asia as well as out of their operation in Dubai. In recent years Bufori has build such tailor made cars priced as much as $5 million dollars for their special clients. Accordingly, parts and materials if needed can easily be sources from Bufori as it is well supported for the owner of these amazing cars.
