Description / Overview:
A classic early 1980s Australian wagon with the right ingredients. The VH Commodore was Holden's second-generation answer to family motoring, and the wagon body makes it one of the more practical and increasingly collectable body styles from the era. This one is finished in a fresh red respray that presents well across all panels, with a clean, recently rebuilt engine bay to match.
Under the bonnet is a rebuilt 202ci Holden inline-six with around 15,000km on the fresh motor, complemented by a chrome rocker cover, open-element air cleaner and new Bosch ignition leads. Drivetrain work extends to a recently replaced gearbox. Interior has been freshened with new seatbelts, new carpet, new window and door rubbers, and reupholstered seating. Vendor advises there are marks and scratches present and a small burn hole on the driver's seat (refer photos). There is active rust bubbling on the lower rear quarter panel above the driver's side wheel arch - inspect prior to bidding. Rear seatbelt retractor requires attention.
This is a capable project or useable driver with the hard work largely done in the mechanicals. The rust needs addressing before it gets worse, but the bones are solid and the drivetrain is fresh.
