The LX Torana SS is one of Australia's most iconic performance cars, and the two-door coupe in Aquarius Blue is about as good as it gets for visual impact. This is a genuine factory SS, confirmed by a certified Holden Historical Services Vehicle Production Report (No. 0027702450T) that traces the car back to its build at GM-H's Dandenong plant on 30 July 1976 and its sale through Zupps Aspley in December 1976. The report confirms factory specification: LX SS coupe, 4.2-litre V8, M20 four-speed manual, GU4 3.08:1 banjo rear axle, Aquarius Blue with Chamois/Black trim.
In person, this car presents beautifully. The Aquarius Blue metallic paint has excellent depth and gloss across all panels, with the black bonnet, SS bonnet scoop, and bolt-on wheel arch flares providing the aggressive factory SS stance. Panel alignment is good throughout with no visible dents, ripples, or bodywork concerns. The black interior is in exceptional condition with the factory vinyl and cloth-insert bucket seats showing minimal wear, clean black carpet, and an intact dashboard without visible cracking. The SS badges are fitted to the grille, dashboard, and boot. A chrome open-element air filter and performance carburettor have been fitted to the engine bay, which presents clean with the traditional red-painted valve covers. Aftermarket mesh-style alloy wheels replace the original SS steel items. A set of keys is present.
