Description
This is not just another custom Harley. This is a purpose-built promotional chopper created for Jim Beam Australia, and the craftsmanship on display is absolutely next level. Built by Apache Choppers Australia on a 1997 FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic donor, every surface of this machine has been transformed into a rolling tribute to bourbon culture. The custom paint alone is worth the price of admission, a hyper-realistic wood-grain airbrush finish across the entire bike that convincingly replicates the look of aged bourbon barrel oak. It covers the fuel tank, both fenders, every visible frame tube, and even the handlebars. Under show lighting, the depth in the clearcoat is stunning.
The mechanical transformation is equally comprehensive. The stock telescopic forks have been replaced with a chrome springer front end, the rear has been converted to a rigid hardtail setup, and a massively wide rear tyre (estimated 250mm plus) fills the custom full-wrap rear fender. A 23-inch front wheel gives the front end real presence. The 1340cc Evolution V-twin has been extensively detailed with chrome and polished rocker boxes, chrome pushrod tubes, spike-style chrome air cleaners, and braided stainless lines throughout. The primary cover features a hand-engraved "Apache Choppers Australia" derby cover. A solo leather seat with diamond-quilted stitching sits on chrome barrel springs, forward controls position the rider in a proper chopper stance, and a digital mini speedometer in km/h replaces the stock instrument cluster. The exhaust is a custom 2-into-1 chrome system with a flared tip. The belt drive has been converted to chain.
As an ex-promotional piece with genuine brand heritage, this bike has provenance that elevates it well beyond a standard custom build. It presents in show-quality condition throughout and would be a centrepiece in any collection. Located in Acacia Ridge, Queensland.
