The W126 500 SEC was the pinnacle of Mercedes-Benz grand touring in the 1980s. Pillarless 2-door coupe body, 5.0-litre M117 V8 with Bosch fuel injection, automatic gearbox, and right-hand drive. This 1985 example is presented in dark blue with cream leather interior and is European delivery specification, confirmed by the miles-based instrument cluster and RHD configuration.
The odometer reads 64,999 miles, a low figure for the year. At roughly 1,625 miles per year that is plausible, however mechanical 5-digit odometers can roll over . The engine bay appears complete and the M117 V8 shows no obvious leaks from photos.
Straight talk on condition: there is active rust visible around the rear window channel and on the inner trunk lid panel. This is a documented weakness on the W126 coupe body and will require professional assessment and repair before the car can be considered sorted. The trunk carpet is absent. The interior has been modified with an aftermarket steering wheel, aftermarket gear selector knob, and a dashboard cover that most likely conceals a cracked original dash. The exterior chrome is intact and paint gloss is good. The hood star emblem is missing.
