1994 Ford ED Falcon Futura Classic - Caribbean Blue Metallic - 225,607km - 4.0L OHC I6, Auto, Dual-Fuel LPG
Four-door sedan, rear-wheel drive, 4.0-litre OHC inline-six petrol with LPG dual-fuel, automatic transmission, 225,607km indicated, five seats.
Description
The ED Falcon Futura Classic was Ford Australia's premium trim offering for 1994, sitting above the standard Futura with its distinctive two-tone paintwork, factory alloy wheels, and enhanced interior appointments. Built in May 1994, this example wears the signature Futura Classic treatment with Caribbean Blue Metallic upper body, grey lower panels and red accent pinstriping running the full length of the car. The "Classic" script badge sits on the front guards alongside the "4.0i Overhead Cam" badge, confirming the full-fat 4.0-litre inline-six under the bonnet.
The exterior presents well for a 31-year-old Falcon. The Caribbean Blue paint retains good gloss and depth across most panels, with the vendor advising paint fade on the bonnet and around the door edges. Panels are straight with no visible dents or creases, and the factory alloy wheels are in tidy condition wearing a matched set of tyres (Triangle and DS300 brands visible). The rear window louvres give it a classic period look, and a towbar with chrome ball is fitted. Under the bonnet, the 4.0-litre OHC inline-six presents with the correct Ford rocker cover badging and EEC-IV engine management. An LPG dual-fuel system is fitted with an APA Industries tank mounted in the boot and plumbing running through the engine bay. The vendor advises this system is active, giving the next owner the option of running on either fuel. Inside, the front seats are fitted with grey sheepskin covers over the factory cloth upholstery. The rear seats show the original Futura Classic patterned cloth in good order with no rips or tears. The dashboard is covered with a protective felt mat. The Ford factory cassette stereo with security coding is fitted, alongside the period Ford climate control panel. The steering wheel has a fabric cover fitted. Rubber floor mats are in place throughout.
The vendor advises a number of recent maintenance items including a new complete exhaust system, new battery, new brake pads with machined rotors, and new air conditioning condensers and belts. The vendor also discloses an idle fault, particularly in reverse, and notes the engine requires warm-up time. At a guide of $3,000 to $5,000, this is an affordable entry into a genuine piece of Ford Australia heritage with the bonus of recent mechanical work and dual-fuel economy.
