In 1939, Cadillac was at the height of its reputation as the Standard of the World. The Fleetwood body, hand-crafted in Detroit and fitted to Cadillac's most prestigious chassis, represented the pinnacle of American automotive engineering. An eight-passenger Fleetwood sedan was the choice of governors, executives, and anyone for whom the absolute best was the only acceptable option. Finding one today in unrestored, original condition is genuinely rare. This example, at 89,714 miles from new and retaining its factory specification throughout, is exactly that.
The exterior presents in its two-tone black and silver finish with whitewall tyres and chrome hubcaps, showing age-appropriate character rather than any attempt at restoration.
