The VK Commodore holds a special place in Australian motoring history, and this 1984 example has been built as a full HDT Brock tribute. Wearing Commodore Blue over a matching blue and teal herringbone interior, this car presents as a carefully assembled homage to Peter Brock's most iconic era. The build plate confirms factory June 1984 manufacture, original V8 (L14 engine code), and automatic transmission, all consistent with the advertised specifications.
Externally this car is striking. The Commodore Blue metallic paint presents in excellent, deep-gloss condition across all panels, and the HDT tribute kit is comprehensive. The car wears an HDT-style front air dam and chin spoiler, bonnet scoop, side skirts, Brock-specification boot lip spoiler, smoked tail lights, and the signature rear window louvres. HDT badging appears on the front guard and rear quarter panels. White HDT-replica multi-spoke alloy wheels complete the look and are presented in excellent condition. The stance is lowered relative to standard VK specification. Interestingly, photos also show an SS badge on the nose and boot.
Inside, the teal and grey herringbone tweed trim is well-matched throughout and presents in excellent condition, genuinely impressive for a 40-year-old vehicle. An HDT-branded 3-spoke steering wheel is fitted, and the dashboard is crack-free with all original instrumentation intact. An aftermarket head unit has replaced the factory radio. Battery has been relocated to the boot. The 308ci V8 has been modified with an aftermarket Holley-style 4-barrel carburettor on a performance aluminium intake manifold, and finned aftermarket valve covers are fitted. The engine bay is painted body colour and presented cleanly. A roll cage is fitted inside the vehicle, visible through the front and rear glass, making this a car built with some track intent in mind. No spare tyre is visible in the boot. The compliance plate in the engine bay appears to have been painted over during the respray, though VIN details remain legible from other plates.
