Description
The BA Falcon GT occupies a genuine place in Australian motoring history. Produced in limited numbers by Ford Performance Vehicles, the GT was FPV's flagship performance sedan for its era, carrying the 5.4-litre Boss 260 V8 producing 260kW and a broad spread of torque that made it as satisfying in daily use as it was on a track day. This 2003 example is Build Number 133, confirmed by the original FPV Certificate of Authenticity signed by Managing Director David Flint, still in its original protective sleeve. The documentation package is exceptional, with the original owner's manual wallet, FPV brochure, and two keys all present.
The silver metallic paint presents with reasonable depth and gloss, and the GT's distinctive orange side stripes remain vibrant. The front fascia wears the correct GT mesh grille with Boss 260 badging on the bonnet, and the FPV GT sill plates are in place. The 18-inch factory alloys wear Michelin Pilot Sport tyres and carry the GT's signature blue brake calipers. The interior is trimmed in the correct GT black cloth and Alcantara with red GT embroidery on the headrests and seatbacks, all present and intact. A dash mat is fitted to the dashboard. The instrument cluster displays the FPV-specific 270km/h speedometer and the odometer reads 152,159km, consistent with the Certificate of Authenticity records.
BA GTs are appreciating as the collector market catches up with their significance. Low-production-number examples with full documentation represent the sharper end of that market, and Build #133 with its complete paperwork is a serious collector's acquisition. Comparable BA GTs are trading between $30,000 and $50,000 depending on condition and documentation, and a fully documented early build number sits towards the upper end of that range.
