Colours appear fresh and well-preserved.

The most frontal and confrontational work in this artist's series, this piece presents a large symmetrical face or mask constructed entirely from interlocking mechanical, architectural, and organic elements. Tubes, pipes, spheres, ridged teeth-like forms, spiral scrolls, gears, and segmented armour plates build the head-like structure from the inside out. Two distinct eye apertures give the composition a direct, commanding presence. The aesthetic falls somewhere between biomechanical illustration, tribal mask-making, and industrial fantasy. The cooler steel blue, grey, and mauve palette is more developed in its tonal modelling than many of the artist's other pieces, giving this work a more three-dimensional, sculptural quality. The adhesive residue on the verso suggests this work was previously displayed.

Signed lower right. A strong statement piece from this series, with the kind of direct visual impact that would command attention on a wall. Estimated value range for works of this type: $150 to $500.

Specifications
Artist: ISHISHI (as signed)
Attribution: Signed original
Title: Untitled
Medium: Coloured pencil and graphite on paper
Dimensions (unframed): Approx. 50 x 70 cm (unverified)
Frame: Unframed
Signature: Lower right, sanguine pencil
COA: Not present
Condition: Good.
