1966 Ford Mustang fastback coupe, Raven Black exterior with painted gold Le Mans stripes, 289ci A-Code V8, automatic transmission (Cruise-O-Matic), GT350H Hertz livery, left-hand drive, 4 seats, Shelby American Inc. serial plate present, 73,126 miles indicated.

Description

The 1966 Mustang fastback is one of the most iconic American car body styles of all time, and the GT350H Hertz connection only deepens the legend. In 1966, Shelby American built approximately 1,000 GT350H cars specifically for the Hertz Rent-A-Car corporation, finished in Raven Black with gold Le Mans stripes. Hertz called them the Rent-A-Racer, and the idea of renting a Shelby for a weekend race was as cool then as it sounds now. This 1966 fastback carries a Shelby American Inc. vehicle serial plate reading SFM 6T09A124074, mounted in the door jamb area, which is the standard location for Shelby-built Mustang serial plates. Vendor advises the car has been presented in authentic GT350H Hertz livery.

The Raven Black exterior carries strong gloss throughout all panels. The gold Le Mans stripes are painted in a flow-coat finish. GT350H identification appears on both door lower body stripes. The fiberglass GT350-style bonnet with twin functional NACA scoops is fitted. The Shelby Cobra fuel filler cap is present on the tail panel. The engine bay shows the 289ci A-Code V8 with a chrome Holley 4-barrel air cleaner assembly, performance valve covers, Monte Carlo strut tower brace, performance extractors, and blue performance plug leads. The interior has been trimmed in black vinyl bucket seats with GT350 branded floor mats throughout. The Cobra-embossed walnut-rim steering wheel, a period-correct and Shelby-associated fitment, is fitted. An aftermarket radio head unit has been installed. The Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission selector is visible in multiple photos and confirms the automatic drivetrain. A Shelby-style tachometer pod is mounted to the upper dash. The gear shifter shows a P-R-N-D-L automatic gate. The plaid-pattern trunk mat, consistent with period GT350 trim, is fitted in the boot. All 73,126 miles is indicated on the odometer.
