A cast bronze sculpture of an Australian kangaroo captured mid-bound, its powerful haunches driving the body forward while the thick tail extends behind for balance. The small forelimbs are tucked against the chest. The sculptor has used a hand-applied two-tone patina to great effect: a warm golden-brown covers the body and back while darker brown-black tones on the head, legs, ears, and tail suggest the animal's natural shading. The circular base is textured to represent rough natural ground with small rocks.<br>
