A naturalistically rendered bird sculpture depicting what appears to be a corvid or jay species, perched in an upright alert pose with tail raised diagonally on a weathered fence post base. The sculptor has applied a sophisticated multi-toned patina: blue-grey tones on the head, tail, and wing tips simulate the species' characteristic coloration while warm brown-gold tones cover the body and breast. Individual feather groups are rendered with incised detail throughout, and the herringbone/chevron tail feather pattern is particularly well observed.<br>
