Michael Whelan (b. 1950) is among the most celebrated fantasy and science fiction illustrators of the late 20th century. A multiple Hugo Award winner for Best Professional Artist, his work defined the visual language of an entire generation of science fiction and fantasy publishing. Whelan's limited edition prints have attracted a consistent collector following worldwide. This print depicts a female warrior with long silver/white hair holding a sceptre-topped orb, accompanied by a helmeted male warrior with a raised sword, both mounted on a white horse before towering stone columns inscribed with rune-like script. The composition, mood, and character design suggest a connection to the Elric saga or similar heroic fantasy literature. A highly sought print in a small edition of only 150, signed by the artist in gold ink.<br>
