<b>Description</b><br>
A commanding architectural fantasy drawing on heavy paper. The composition is built from spiraling ramps, Gothic pointed arches, cylindrical towers with porthole openings, and interlocking staircases that defy gravity in the tradition of Escher. A large white serpentine architectural ribbon winds through the centre of the piece, descending from upper right to lower centre and anchoring the otherwise vertiginous composition. The shading is careful and convincing, giving every geometric surface a persuasive three-dimensional quality.<br><br>
The palette is muted and atmospheric: blue-greys, ochre and amber, olive greens, warm browns and cream. The medium is oil pastel or colored pencil applied densely on textured paper with visible directional strokes. Signed "ISHISHI" in red at lower right. Verso bears a copyright notation.<br><br>
