1976 Gilera Enduro - Red
Overview
A 1976 Gilera Enduro in red, presented as a restoration project. The tank carries GILERA lettering on both sides, with "el duro" and a Gilera badge visible on the left side cover panel. The seat is stamped GILERA PIAGGIO on the rear. The number "50" is printed on the top of the fuel tank near the headstock.
The motorbike is fitted with a round headlight with a stone guard, chrome handlebars, dual rear shock absorbers, a centre stand, a chain final drive, drum brakes front and rear, and spoked wheels with knobby off-road tyres. An exhaust heat shield with oval ventilation holes is fitted on the left side.
Condition
Two badge mounting plates are visible on the top of the tank where badges have been removed. The yellow side cover panels show scratches and scuffing on both sides. The seat cover is worn and cracked, with tears visible at the rear. The front mudguard shows surface corrosion and paint loss. The rear mudguard is bent and dented. The frame and swingarm show surface corrosion throughout.
The front tyre retains visible tread blocks with some flattening across the centre. The rear tyre retains tread blocks with wear visible across the contact patch. Both tyres show ageing and hardening of the rubber. The chain appears slack with surface corrosion visible. The rear sprocket shows wear. Wiring at the headstock area appears loose and disconnected, with bare wire ends visible. The lever perches and levers show surface oxidation. The grips appear intact. The engine casing carries GILERA cast lettering on the left crankcase cover and shows accumulated grime.
